Exclusive presale now under way
02/11/2006TORONTO -- The opportunity to see if the new-look Toronto Blue Jays are for real is just around the corner.
Single-game tickets for this season are available for the first time in an exclusive sale at www.bluejays.com. Tickets will be available elsewhere on Feb. 25.
The 2006 season kicks off with a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins, starting April 4 at the Rogers Centre. That's when fans will be able to get their initial glimpse at the team's new acquisitions: starter A.J. Burnett, closer B.J. Ryan, third baseman Troy Glaus, first baseman Lyle Overbay and catcher Bengie Molina.
The first month of the season is full of American League East rivals. In April, the Blue Jays will play 17 games against division foes -- 11 of them at home. The New York Yankees visit Toronto on April 18-19, and the Boston Red Sox come to town April 21-23. The Blue Jays also host the World Series champion Chicago White Sox on May 26-28 and again on Aug. 4-6.
Toronto has three Interleague opponents at home this season: the New York Mets (June 23-25), the Washington Nationals (June 27-29) and the Philadelphia Phillies (June 30-July 2).
If the Blue Jays' offseason moves help keep them in contention until late in the year, the Sept. 18-20 series against the Yankees and the Sept. 22-25 series against the Red Sox could be crucial to securing a playoff spot.
Ticket prices range from $9 in the 500 level to $205 for "In the Action" seats. There are various promotions throughout the season, including: a magnet schedule giveaway (April 4-6); Vernon Wells Bobblehead Community Living Day (May 28); Blue Jays Kids Glove giveaway (June 11); Dog Day (July 16); Cito Gaston Bobblehead giveaway (August 6); and Scarf, Glove and Toque set giveaway (Sept. 24).
